Our Lab
Our lab is located in the new building of the Centre de Recherche du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CRCHUM). It is part of the Montreal Diabetes Research Center (MDRC). The CRCHUM is the largest research center affiliated with the University of Montreal. It employs more than 2,000 people working on strategic priority areas in line with the clinical activities of the CHUM. The MDRC was created in 2004 thanks to a large infrastructure grant from the Canadian Fund for Innovation. It groups more than 35 investigators and their research groups from six universities (UMontreal, McGill, Laval, Sherbrooke, UQAM and Ottawa) who share a common mission: Understand to prevent and cure diabetes.
The Poitout lab was first established in 2006 thanks to contributions from the CRCHUM, the Université de Montréal and the Canadian Fund for Innovation.
