Derek K. Hagman, PhD
Derek did his Post-doctoral Fellow from 2005 to 2008. He was supported by a post-doctoral fellow from NIH (National Institute of Health). He did a second Post-doctoral Fellow at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Wa.
Thierry Alquier, PhD
Thierry did his second Post-doctoral Fellow from 2006 to 2010. He was part of the GRP40 team. He was supported by a post-doctoral fellowship from the CDA (Canadian Diabetes Association). He is now Assistant Professor at the Department of Medicine of the University of Montreal.
Melkam Kebede, PhD
Melkam did her Post-doctoral Fellow from 2007 to 2012. She was part of the GPR40 team. She was supported by a post-doctoral fellowship from the CDA (Canadian Diabetes Association). She did a second Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Wisconsin-Madison with Dr. Alan Attie. Back in Australia, Melkam is now an Assistant-professor at the University of Sydney.
Julie Amyot, PhD
Julie did her doctoral studies from 2006 to 2012. She was part of the Glucolipotoxicity team. She was supported by a graduate scholarship from the FRQS (Fonds de recherche santé Québec). She was awarded her PhD degree in February 2012. She did her Post-doctoral Fellow at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. Julie is now a Biochemist at the Institut de Cardiologie de Montréal.
Mourad Ferdaoussi, PhD
Mourad did his first Post-doctoral Fellow from February 2009 to May 2012. He was part of the GPR40 team. He is now doing his second Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta in Edmonton with Dr. Patrick MacDonald.
Ghislaine Fontés, PhD
Ghislaine did her Post-doctoral Fellow from 2006 to 2009. She was supported by a post-doctoral fellowship from the CDA (Canadian Diabetes Association). She then worked as a Lab Scientist until September 2012. Ghislaine is now working at McGill University.
Isma Benterki, BSc
Isma did a summer stage in 2011, then started her MSc studies from September 2011 to November 2013.
Bader Zarrouki, PhD
Bader did his Post-doctoral Fellow from November 2008 to October 2013. He was first supported by a joint MDRC (Montreal Diabetes Research Center)- Merck post-doctoral fellowship then by a joint MDRC - Lilly post-doctoral fellowship. Bader is now working as a Scientist in Goteberg, Sweden.
Meriem Semache, MSc
Meriem did her doctoral studies from September 2008 to December 2013. She was part of the Glucolipotoxicity team. She was supported by a graduate scholarship from the FRQS (Fonds de recherche Québec Santé). She was awarded her PhD degree in April 2014. Meriem is now doing a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Michel Bouvier at the IRIC (Institut de recherche en immunologie et en cancérologie).
Arturo Mancini, PhD
Arturo did is Post-doctoral Fellow from April 2011 to April 2015. He was part of the GPR40 team. He was supported by a post-doctoral fellowship from the CDA (Canadian Diabetes Association). Arturo is now a Scientist with Domain Therapeutics.
Laetitia Koppe, MD, PhD
Laetitia did a Post-doctoral Fellow from November 2013 to October 2015. She was part of the Glucolipotoxicity team. She was supported by an INSERM (Institut National de la santé et de la recherche médicale) and then a FRQS (Fonds de recherche Québec santé) post-doctoral fellowships. She is now an Assistant-Professor in Lyon, France.
Elsa Nyam, BSc
Elsa did her M.Sc. studies in Dr. Poitout's laboratory from September 2013 to May 2016. She was part of the Glucolipotoxicity team. She is now a M.Sc. student in Genetic counselling at Université de Montréal.
Kevin Vivot, PhD
Kevin did his Post-doctoral Fellow from October 2012 to October 2016. He was part of the GPR40 team. He was supported by a FRQS (Fonds de recherche Québec santé) post-doctoral fellowship. Kevin is now back in Strasbourg doing a second Post-doctoral Fellow.
Valentine Moullé, PhD
Valentine did her Post-doctoral Fellow from January 2014 to February 2017. She was part of the Glucolipotoxicity team. She was supported by a CRCHUM post-doctoral fellowship. Valentine is now back in France.
Valérie Bergeron, PhD
Valérie did her doctoral studies from January 2011 to September 2017. She is now working as a Standards Officer, at the Centre for Biosecurity of the Public Health Agency of Canada.
